County of Benton

Proposition 1

Shall the County of Benton, Missouri impose a countywide sales tax in the amount of one-half of one percent (1/2%) to provide funds to construct a new jail that will ensure compliance with minimum American Correctional Association (ACA) standards for detention facilities? If approved, this sales tax will expire on September 30,2038 or whenever the final payment occurs on the lease certificates of participation, whichever comes first.

Proposition 2

Shall the County of Benton, Missouri impose a county-wide sales tax in the amount of one-eighth of one percent (1/8%) for the purpose of operating the new jail facility as part of providing law enforcement services for the County?
